ItaloBus from Naples to Pompeii and Sorrento

Italo ‘s summer 2018 continues to be full of novelties: the cities of Pompeii and Sorrento are connected to the High Speed network by Italobus, an intermodal rail – road service by Italo, with 5 daily connections.

Italo travelers can use the new station of Naples Afragola (Zaha Hadid project) as an intermodal junction, arriving here by train and then going on the Italo bus to go to Pompeii or Sorrento.

All this with the convenience of a single ticket, valid for both means, allowing you to travel with the maximum of services both by train and by coach.

Visiting the marvelous beaches of Sorrento and the beauties of the Scavi di Pompei, UNESCO heritage since 1997 and the third most visited state museum in Italy in 2016 (with more than 3 million visitors), has become easier.

There are 3 services departing from Naples Afragola at 8:55 (arrival at Pompei at 9:40 and Sorrento at 10.45), at 13:30 (arrival at Pompeii at 2:20 pm and at 3:25 at Sorrento) 6:30 pm (arrival at Pompeii at 7:20 pm and in Sorrento at 8:25 pm); in this way those departing from Milan, Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Florence and Rome will find a convenient bus connection to enjoy the attractions of the city of Campania.

For those who want to leave from Sorrento or Pompeii to reach the different destinations connected by the Italo trains there will be 2 daily connections: from Sorrento at 11:15 (12:15 from Pompeii and arrival at Afragola at 13:10) and at 16:15 (5:15 pm from Pompeii and arrive at 6:10 pm in Afragola).

ItaloBus has expanded its network in Campania: starting from June 14, the service has been activated between Afragola and the cities of Caserta and Benevento and now also include Sorrento and Pompeii, a city that already in 2016 had seen Italo engage in a crowdfunding project to raise funds dedicated to the restoration of Cubiculum number 3 of the Domus del Centauro.
