Luci d’Artista a Salerno
Great ferment in Salerno for the Artist’s Lights. The inauguration of the most impressive and important event of winter tourism in Salerno is scheduled for Friday 3 November at 18.00 at Piazza Flavio Gioia.
The main theme of the Artistic Lights festival is “One Thousand and One Night”. An oriental fairy tales and the charms of Sherazade will be protagonist, which will be installed in Piazza Flavio Gioia, always the heart of Salerno’s luminaries.
For this year there are also many novelties for the appointment of the Artists’ Lights Luci d’Artista: there will be new installations in Piazza Cavour, via Scillato (Forte La Carnale), and also in the port of Santa Teresa and in the historic city center where it is planned to install giant lights figures.
For this edition of Luci d’Artista there are many illuminated kilometers, still rising compared to past editions: nine thematic routes for sixteen luminaire sites. In the much-loved “Enchanted Garden” of the Salerno Villa Comunale, they will put new fairy tales with the addition of the beautiful train and its luminous locomotive. The pedestrian walkway of Salerno, Vittorio Emanuele, will host the installation of the cascades of lights and celestial bodies.
In addition to the true lights, other attractions will be part of the Christmas event.

“Leonardo da Vinci – the Genius of the Good” – Inauguration Saturday November 4:
The exhibition, sponsored by the Municipal Administration of Salerno, allows you to admire closely and perfectly functioning different machines invented by the great genius of Leonardo da Vinci and crafted artisanally by the wise hands of Master Mario Paolucci both in scale and in size as: flying machines, parachute predecessor, a bicycle, a hydraulic saw and many other inventions. Also, will be reproductions of Leonardo masterpieces and codes.
All the Leonard machines are working and can be touched to be tested, “to enable intense sensory perceptual experience through which to activate emotional and cognitive mechanisms.” For the joy of the big ones and the fun of the little ones at the end of the exhibition path c ‘is the chance to “disguise” Leonardo da Vinci and try to build with his own hands some of the machines on display.
Ferris wheel – Inauguration Saturday November 11,
The grand panorama wheel will be inaugurated on November 11 and will be positioned, just like last year, in the Underground Square of Concordia. The structure is one of the largest mobile wheels in Europe consisting of 28 cabins for a total of 168 seats with a weight of 300 tons.
Christmas Markets – Inauguration Friday, December 8,
They could not miss the very famous Christmas markets of the Luci d’Artista of Salerno. The typical Christmas houses will be installed on the promenade Trieste from piazza Cavour, Piazza S. Agostino; Pomona Temple, St. Petrillo Lane, Marconi Beach, Mercatello Park, Via Orofino, Via Sciaraffia and Piazza Caduti Civili of Brescia.
Christmas tree – Inauguration Friday, December 8,
The inauguration of the Christmas Tree among the highest in Europe is scheduled, as usual, Friday, December 8 at Piazza Portanova. In Pastena there is the Ice Forest as well as the sled of Santa Claus in Torrione in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Always on December 8 at the Maritime Station will be inaugurated the Show Sand and Nativity, namely sand nurseries.
